Randal Poorman

Randal Edward Poorman, 70, of Robinson, IL, died on September 12, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

Randal was born on July 29, 1952, in Robinson, IL, the son of Marion Robert Poorman & Areatha Earnestine (Monk) Poorman, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lester Joe Poorman and Dale Poorman and Sister-in-law, Carolyn Poorman; by his sister, Phyllis Poorman Wampler; and by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Nole Wayne & Lois Irene Swick.

He married Sharon Swick on November 12, 1976, and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Travis Poorman and Trevor Poorman; by his grandchildren, Justin Poorman, Caden Poorman, Jameson Poorman, and Ash Poorman; by his brothers and sisters, Kenny & Elizabeth St. John, Martha & Jerry Lindley, and Paul & Nancy Poorman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Randy grew up in West Union, IL, on a small farm. He graduated from Hutsonville High School in 1970 and worked as manager for the Red & White grocery store in Robinson, Marshall, and Casey for several years. In his younger years, he would coach his son Trevor's basketball and baseball teams and referee at the local sporting events.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending time in his garden or watching his favorite sports teams. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and Chicago Bears fan. His genuine pride and joy was his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

Randy will be remembered for his loving, jokester personality.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL, with Pastor Shane Bopp officiating.
