Ralph Samuel Ramsey

Ralph Samuel Ramsey, 72, of Pekin, IL, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Bigfork Hospital, Bigfork, MN. He was born November 18, 1936 in Palestine, IL, the son of Earl Ramsey and Margaret Alexander Ramsey. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #157. He spent his summers in Bigfork, MN on Ann Lake and he was a member and attended the Old Scenic Community Church in Bigfork, MN. Ralph was a member and past Commander of the Hutsonville American Legion Post #742, and a member of the Palestine AmVets Post #33, and the Palestine Eagles.Ralph married Beverly Jane Ogborn on August 27, 1966 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 daughters and his son-in-law, Sheri and Don Jensen, Henderson, NV, Tammy, Las Vegas; Marla Ramsey, Hutsonville; 2 sons and his daughter-in-law, Kevin Ramsey, Palestine, Ralph Jr. and Jennifer Ramsey, Pekin; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Ramsey, Brad Ramsey, Nicholas Ramsey, Christopher Ramsey, Taylor Ramsey; 2 great grandchildren, Bowen and Bennen Ramsey; and his sister, Norma Mendenhall, Palestine.He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Don and Bob Ramsey; his sister, Jean White; and 2 great grandchildren. Ryley and Payton Mullens.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the AmVets Post #33, V. F. W. Post #4549, Hutsonville American Legion Post # 742, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 25th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Old Scenic Community Church, 25747 County Rd. 340, Bigfork, MN 56628 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
