Phyllis Jean Clark, 72, of Palestine, died at 9:57 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Carle Clinic in Urbana, due to a severe brain injury. She was born May 28, 1939 in Palestine, the daughter of Ray and Olive Jeffries. She was a secretary at Blue Flame Gas Corporation for about 20 years and had been retired since 2003. She was a member of the Christian Church and a member of the Red Hat Society.She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Ray and Olive Jeffries and her grandmother, Gladys Cooper. She is survived by her son, Greg Clark, Kentucky; her daughter-in-law, Sheliah Clark, Kentucky; her daughter, Jeannine Clark, Las Vegas; 2 granddaughters, Shandi Clark, Kentucky, and Presley Clark, Las Vegas; her great grandson, Christian Hancock, Kentucky; and her former husband, Don Clark, Porterville, IL.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
