Philip E. Ogalsbee

October 19, 1934 — September 17, 2019

Philip E. Ogalsbee Sr. passed away on September 17, 2019, at Casey Health Center. He was the son of Linus and Hazel Ogalsbee. He was born October 19,1934, in Bridgeport Illinois where he was raised. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and youngest son. He’s survived by his wife of 64 years, Olive Ogalsbee; son Linus Ogalsbee; daughter Tammie & son-in-law Melvin Stanley; and daughter Gloria & son-in-law Kerry Knight. He had three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Philip traveled all over the United States with his family while in the IBEW Union Local #725 as an electrician. Before that, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Philip was an avid outdoorsman. He loved training his bird dogs to hunt quail and dove. He also hunted deer and elk. He enjoyed trap shooting at the local gun club and won many trophies in competition. He tied his own flies to fly fish at Bennett Spring State Park. In his later years, he played a lot of golf and pool. Philip was always there for his family and enjoyed supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren no matter what sport they were playing. He was always there to cheer them on. There will be no services. He will be laid to rest at a private ceremony in Plad, Missouri at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the "Alzheimer's Association" in his memory. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
