Pfc Jacob Timothy Tracy

PFC Jacob Timothy Tracy, 20, of Palestine, IL, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 in Iraq as result of injuries sustained in combat. He was born September 20, 1986 in Paris, IL, the son of Donald Eugene Tracy and Sheila Dove Cook Tracy. He attended Palestine High School and the Pilgrim Holiness Church, rural Palestine. He served in the U. S. Army 2nd Brigade, First Troop, 8th Calvary, in the regular Army. He is survived by his parents, Don and Sheila Tracy, Palestine; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine Ann and Jason Adamson, Newport Richey, FL, Nichole Lynn and Derek Dunlap, rural Flat Rock; 1 niece and 1 nephew; maternal grandparents, Mollie and Richard Houser, Willow Hill; maternal grandfather, Steve Cook, Marshall; maternal great grandmother, Rachel Miller, Willow Hill; and paternal grandparents; John and Janez Tracy, Robinson.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Palestine Grade School with Rev. Richard Houser officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by a detachment from Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26th at the Palestine Grade School. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to Pilgrim Holiness Church Transportation Fund. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, IL is in charge of arrangements.
