Pauline Edith Richards, 91, of Palestine, IL, died at 4:10 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 6, 1917 in Heathsville, IL, the daughter Roy Pierson and Nora Higgins Pierson. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Canaan Primitive Baptist Church, rural Flat Rock. She was active in the Palestine Food Bank, and the Crawford County Clothing Center. She married Floyd H. Richards on January 1, 1936 and he survives. She is also survived by 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Joe McDaniel, Palestine, Betty and Tom Woodward, Flat Rock, Edna and Jack Frakes, Robinson, Mary Lou and Tommy Tompkins, Midland, TX, Nora and Don Staley, Annapolis; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Mary Richards, Friendswood, TX, Pat and Rita Richards, Robinson, and Mel Richards, Palestine; her sister, Norenia Hope, Evansville, IN; her brother, Marshall Pierson, Vincennes, IN; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 children in infancy; 1 grandson, Donnie Nethery, II;2 great grandchildren, Trista Jo Titsworth and Emily Richards; and 3 sisters, Eileen Adams, Mary Beasley, and Melvia Pierson.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, IL. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Food Bank.
