Patty Jeanne "Pat" Parsons, 88, of Robinson, IL, passed away on January 31, 2021, at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson. She was born June 30, 1932, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of James H. Adams & Effie (Engle) Adams, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Lowell G. Mitchell in 1952, and he preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Robert "Bob" Parsons in 1962, and he too preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her son, Greg W. Mitchell, in January of 1981; and by her siblings, Frances Moore, Richard Chambers, Marjorie Salesberry, Bill Adams, Leo Adams, Harold Adams, and Leila Loy. She is survived by her daughter, Teri Mitchell Brigham; by her granddaughters, Sarah & Chris Burk, Jessica & Aaron Coleman, and Valerie & Thane Tingley; by her great-grandchildren, Anna, Amy, Adam, Trenton, Wyatt, Stevie, Carmen, Caitlyn; by her step-great-grandchildren, Thane, Jr., and Lucas; as well as several nieces and nephews. From an early age, it was evident that music was to play a crucial role in Pat’s life. At the young age of 4, she began singing publicly with her brother, Bill, and her sister, Marjorie. She would later recall learning songs from her siblings as they sang and washed dishes after dinner. She continued to perform throughout her youth and sang with a band during her tenure at Robinson High School, where she would graduate in 1950. Soon, she put her impressive vocal talent onto vinyl, having recorded a couple of records before settling down to start a family. However, this wasn’t the end of her singing days…not by a long shot! Over the years, she became a staple at numerous weddings as well as musicals at LTC, where she played many leading roles before stepping off the stage for the final time in the 1990s. A woman of faith, she used her musical talents to bring glory to her Lord and Savior as the choir director at the Robinson First Christian Church, where she was a longtime and active member. It was evident that her beloved family and many dear friends brought life to Pat’s living. We all find great hope and assurance that the faith she clung to throughout her 88 years has been made sight and that her days with us were just the beginning in light of everlasting life. Though funeral services will be private, a live stream of Pat’s service will be available to the public starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6th.
