Patrick "Pat" Gaddis

Patrick "Pat" Gaddis, 56, of Palestine, IL, died on January 17, 2021 at his home. Patrick was born on October 6, 1964 in Robinson, IL, the son of Roscoe & Marcia (Hamilton) Gaddis. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Josh & Summer Gaddis; by his daughter & son-in-law, Nikki & Jon Garrison; by his grandchildren, Arionna Gaddis, Blake Gaddis, Elijah Gaddis, and Grayson Garrison; by his mother, Marcia Gaddis; by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Roscoe & Janice Gaddis and Greg & Penny Gaddis; by his sister, Debra Alumbaugh; and special friend, Jeanine Judd; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Gaddis and by his brother, Brad Gaddis Pat was a 1982 graduate of Palestine High School.  He would then proudly serve in the U.S. Navy.  He earned an associate's degree from Lincoln Trail College.  Pat spent several years as a truck driver, a career that led him into becoming a bus driver for several entertainers. Away from driving, Pat had a true love for traveling around the world. He found enjoyment going to the race tracks. However,  Pat's true love was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. His grandchildren were the light of his life. A public visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Under Phase 4 Mitigations, public attendance is allowed, but only up to 50 attendees. Thusly, social distancing measures will be in place, and it will be required that all visitors wear face coverings while in the building. A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. During the service, there will be an opportunity for family and friends to share their favorite memories of Pat.
