Patricia Kincaid, 92, of Palestine, IL, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2021, in the comfort of her home. She was born November 30, 1928, on her Grandpa Snyder's farm south of Palestine, the only child of Roscoe Paul Adams & Mary Helen (Snyder) Adams. She grew up in Kankakee, IL, where she attended school for eight years before moving to Palestine. She would go on to graduate from PHS in 1946 and shortly thereafter married Graydon Junior Kincaid. They were united in Holy Matrimony on December 7, 1946, and were blessed with two sons: Roscoe Paul Kincaid in October 1947 and Gregory Jay Kincaid in April 1963. She eventually joined the workforce, and over the course of her 23-year career, worked as a bookkeeper for Reinbold & Sons Grain Mill, Lincoln Trail FS, and Tuttle Mill & Elevator. Away from work, Pat loved to travel and had a special place in her heart for Washington D.C., which comes as no surprise due to its historical significance. After all, Pat held a great reverence for the past. This deep-seated admiration was evidenced by her work with the Palestine Preservation Projects Society (PPPS) and with the James Halstead, Sr. Chapter of the DAR, with whom she was a Past Regent. She was also heavily involved with the Order of the Eastern Star, having been a Past Matron of the Katherine Chapter #637. Though she did good work in these capacities, it was apparent that her magnum opus and most satisfying achievement was her beloved family. They will remember Pat's loving-yet-matter-of-fact personality with the same kind of fondness they held for her delicious baked delicacies! As she entered the twilight years of her life, she found great enjoyment playing Bridge with her dear friends. She would call them (and many other friends and family members) daily, proving how vital relationships were to her life. It could be said that the most important relationship she had was the one she had with Jesus. A longtime member of Outer West Market Church of Christ in Palestine, we find peace knowing that the faith she clung to throughout her 92 years has finally been made sight, and are assured that on Sunday, she reunited with those who have gone before her: her husband, Graydon Junior Kincaid; her son, Roscoe Paul Kincaid; her grandson, Eric Scott Kincaid; as well as her parents and in-laws. She is survived by her son, Greg (DeAnn) Kincaid; by her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kincaid; by her grandchildren, Tammy & Donnie Paddock, Troy & Geline Kincaid, Todd & Barb Kincaid, Heather Dawn Kincaid-Wilson & her boyfriend Brad, Abigail Grace Bezy, and Graydon Michael Kincaid; by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; by her nieces, Barbara Harrington and Vivian Kinyon; by her best friend, Rosemary Ellis; as well as her Bridge friends and Outer West Market Church family. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8th, at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Watson officiating. A live stream of her service will be available on Goodwine Funeral Homes' Facebook page or by going to https://www.goodwinefuneralhomes.com/live-stream/live-stream . Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Palestine Preservation Projects Society ("PPPS"), or to "Outer West Market Church of Christ". Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
