Pat Mitchell

Lyla J. €œPat€ Mitchell, 78, of Robinson died at 8:07 a.m., E.S.T., Tuesday, April 6th at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born July 7, 1931 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Lyle J. and Mildred Ready Robinson. She was a charter member of the Highland Church of Christ and was a member of the Soul Seekers Class. She hosted Sunday Meeting Time on WTAY/WTYE radio, Robinson for over 25 years. She and her husband, Pete sang in revivals and concerts for over 60 years. Along with their children, they sang as the Mitchell Family.Pat married Pete Mitchell on June 17, 1949 and he survives. Also surviving are her children and grandchildren, Max and Angie Mitchell and their son Damon of Robinson, Marta and Don Lockwood of Sullivan, IL, Mont and Christie Mitchell and their sons Tyler, Reid and Griffin of Plainfield, IL, Mark and Shannon Mitchell and their sons Trenton and Trevor of Centralia, IL; her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Sue Robinson of Robinson; her sister and brother-in-law, Clare and Len Krause of Florida; her brother-in-law, Loren Mitchell of Robinson; her sister-in-law, Rosella Mitchell of Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Davis; her granddaughter, Brookelynn Marie Mitchell; her nephew, Gary Davis; and her niece, Kelli Davis.Funeral services will be held at the Highland Church of Christ in Robinson at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010. Ministers Phil Young, Shane Bopp, Mark Scott and Ben Merold will officiate. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the church and from 9-10:30 on Monday preceding the service. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Christian College, 1360 Grand View Dr., St. Louis, MO 63033, New Hebron Christian School, Highland Church of Christ or to Good News Productions International, P.O.
