Otis Everett Legg

Otis Everett Legg, 90, of Robinson, IL, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. He was born June 18, 1918 in Honey Creek Township, Crawford County, IL, the son of Everett Riley Legg and Pearl Enola Rich Legg. He was superintendent of the Robinson-Palestine Water Commission for 38 years retiring in 1980 and a certified operator of the Robinson, Birds, Trimble and Eaton Water Districts. He was a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. He married Hazel Pauline Simons on July 7, 1944 and she preceded him in death January 3, 1950. He married Mary Ahey June 29, 1972 and she preceded him in death March 27, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Maxine Legg and Charles and Maxine Legg; his daughter-in-law, Connie Legg; and brother-in-law, Charles Simons.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Sally Legg, Bridgeport; his daughter, Janet Legg, New Hebron; 2 step daughters and their husbands, Linda and John McCoy, Terre Haute, Lisa and Bill Bogard, Robinson; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and his brother-in-law, Elizabeth Legg, New Hebron, Christine and Don Catt, Flat Rock; his brother-in-law, Jerry Mieure; 2 sisters-in-law, Mildred Zielinski, New Hebron, Marilyn Simons, Lake Alfred, FL; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred White officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson and Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church preceding the services.
