Norma J. Yates

Norma J. Yates, 82 of Robinson, IL, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong. She was born August 30, 1928 in Grandville Township, Jasper County, IL, the daughter of Oakley Dart and Susie Baker Dart. She was a housekeeper at the Schmidt Clinic and a member of the Robinson Free Methodist Church.Norma married John W. Yates December 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Roger Yates, her daughter, Linda Yates; and 2 brothers, Frank Dart and Jim Dart.She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Vickie and Roger Nash, Robinson; her 2 grandsons, Chris Yates, Robinson, and Johnathan Nash, California; her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Mackie Woods, Oblong; 2 sister-in-laws, Janet Dart, Oblong and Betty Dart, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Gene Beard, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 €œ 2:00 p.m. Sunday preceding the services.Memorials may be made to the Free Methodist Church, Robinson or to the Oblong Academic Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
