Norma Gale Ellis

Norma Gale Ellis, 87, of Marshall, IL died at 11:40 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born July 27, 1923 in West Union, IL, the daughter of Floyd Loren Houpt and Russia June Heleine Houpt. Norma was a house parent at the Soldiers and Sailors Children€™s Home in Knightstown, IN. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and the West Union Christian Church.She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Fawneile Jackson, Robinson, Jeanenne Ellis, Marshall, Jeanette & Dee Culp, Robinson; her son and daughter-in-law, Loren €œTuffy€ & Karen Ellis, Marshall; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 2nd at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery, rural West York. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. until service time on Monday. Because of her struggle with dementia, the family requests that memorials may be made to Alzheimer€™s Care at Burnside€™s Community Health Center (D-Wing), with envelopes available at the funeral home.
