Nita Ann Varner

Nita Ann Varner, 79, of Robinson, IL, died at 11:52 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2009 at Crawford Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. She was born in Robinson, IL on July 30, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Darnold) Lowrance.She married Robert L. Varner on January 14, 1949 and he survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Janet Varner, Indianapolis, IN; 2 grandchildren, Eric and Ginny Varner, New Palestine, IN and Stacey and Aubrey Forrester of Jacksonville, FL; 2 great grandchildren, Aleksey and Keaton; her sister Joyce Kaley, Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Larry Lowrance.She was owner and proprietor of the “Monogram Room”; a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, an election judge; and a telephone operator for General Telephone for many years.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday March 18th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Crawford Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit or to the Robinson Food Pantry with envelopes available at the funeral home.
