Nina Laverne York

Nina Laverne York, 94, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. She was born March 26, 1913 in Olive Branch, IL, the daughter of Ira (Dick) Inboden and Alice Perrine Inboden. She worked at the Shoe Factory and Schmidt Clinic in Robinson, the egg factory in Hutsonville, and she and her husband owned York's Caf, Robinson. She was a member of the V. F. W. Post #4549 Auxiliary.She married Wilfred Gay Pethtel February 28, 1932 and he preceded her in death July 9, 1954. She married Raleigh York November 9, 1964 and he preceded her in death September 22, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Winfred Pethtel and Dick Pethtel; 4 sisters, Sylvia Tuttle, Madge Vale, Gladys Reuter, and Leona Maxwell; and 2 brothers, Charles Leo Inboden and Elvin Inboden. She is survived by 5 sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Nina Pethtel, Robinson, Duane and Eldogene Pethtel, Greenville, KY, Thomas and Barbara Pethtel, Robinson, Rick and Linda Pethtel, Palestine, Craig and Sandra York, Palestine; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and Allen “Ray”Alspach, Robinson; 1 daughter-in-law, Patricia Pethtel, Robinson; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 6th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cotillion Ridge Activity Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
