Nina June Taylor Brunson

Nina June Taylor Brunson, 89, of Robinson passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Crawford Memorial Long Term Care. She was born June 15, 1923 in Landes, IL, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Guy Taylor and Ethel Shaw Taylor. She and her husband Byard both graduated from Sumner High School in 1940. Nina worked as a €œRosie the Riveter€ at the airplane factory in San Diego, CA during WWII when Byard was stationed at the naval base. She also worked at L. S. Heath and Robinson Electronics.Nina was baptized in 1933 in Landes, IL at the First Christian Church. She transferred to the Robinson First Christian Church on Easter Sunday, 1946, where she was an active member of the Victory Sunday School Class and Women€™s Fellowship. Nina married Byard O. Brunson on June 3, 1944 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Art Taylor, Alene Black, Pauline Taylor, Lois McKimmy, JoAnnee Good, Reva Brownfield, Russell Westall and Russell Taylor.She is survived by her children, Rita Kay Ford, (Murray, KY), Paul and his wife, Lil Brunson, (Owensboro, KY), June Ellen Eller, (Evansville, IN), Janet Ann Brunson, (Phoenix, AZ); her grandchild, Sarah June Eller; and her great grandchild, Isaiah Lowe, (Evansville, IN); her 2 sisters and her brother-in-law; Norma Allen Dart (Oblong) and Marge & Ralph Akins, (Oblong); and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with the Revs. Amy Wharton and Tom Akers officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11the preceding the services at the funeral home.
