Nick Ickes

Nick Ickes, 59 of Robinson, IL, died at 6:25 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1951 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Hank Ickes and Lois Tober Ickes. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ashland College, Ashland, OH, was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, and a former member of the Robinson Moose Lodge. He was the owner of Nickes Ickes Chevrolet Co in Robinson until recently and was the owner of Nick Ickes Pontiac, Buick, and GMC in Olney from 1987 until 2005.Nick is survived by his wife, Tina, Robinson, whom he married on December 13, 2006; his son, Brian Root, Chicago; his daughter, Jennifer Ickes, Dallas, TX; 2 step-daughters, Jayron and Kenzie Lawrence, Robinson; his granddaughter, Emma Seals, Robinson; and his stepmother, Helen Ickes, Chattanooga, TN.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Memorials may be made to the U of I College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois, 3505 Veterinary Medicine Basic Science Building, 2001 South Lincoln Ave, Urbana, IL 61802 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
