Nancy Louise Laffoon

November 10, 1941 — March 28, 2023

Nancy Louise Laffoon, 81, of Olney, IL, formerly of Robinson, IL, passed away on March 28, 2023, at Richland Nursing & Rehab in Olney, IL. She was born on November 10, 1941, in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Harley T. & Leatha L. (Smith) Musgrove. She grew up in Urbana and was a 1959 graduate of Champaign High School. She began her career at a power company before settling down and becoming a mother. Eventually, she and her daughter, Jennifer, moved to Olney, where Nancy worked at the AMF bicycle factory. On August 27, 1977, she married Jack Laffoon, a union that led her to Robinson, IL, where she worked as a pharmacy tech at Bertram Pharmacy for many years.

It was clear throughout her 81 years that Nancy Laffoon was a lover of people. Her kindness was evident in her warm and cheerful demeanor, in the hugs she so readily and regularly gave, and in the countless cards she wrote to family and friends alike. So invested was she in others that she never missed a loved one's birthday or anniversary. A day that was particularly precious to Nancy was Easter. Not only did this holiday afford her the opportunity to present her beloved grandchildren with Easter baskets, but it was also a time to reflect on the hope that has now been made known to her.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, she was most recently a member of the Flora First United Methodist Church. We know she is now worshiping in the very presence of her Savior!

Left behind to cherish her memory is Nancy's daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & Chris McManigell (Stamping Ground, KY), and her grandchildren, Kristina McManigell (Louisville, KY), Sarah & husband Mish Aldiab (Kissee Mills, MO), and Jacob McManigell (Valdosta, GA).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley & Leatha Musgrove; her brothers, Gerald Musgrove and Floyd Musgrove; and her husband of 27 years, Jack Laffoon.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3rd, at the Oak Grove Cemetery, with Pastor David Hyde officiating. In honor of Nancy's love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society". Memorials may also be made to the "Flora First United Methodist Church". Envelopes will be available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
