Muriel P. Bryan Wiseman, 94, of Palestine, IL, died at 9:15 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL. She was born December 22, 1912 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of Henry Adams and Phoebe Elliott Adams. She was one of 12 children, including 2 half brothers and 1 half sister. She was an elementary teacher for 33 years retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, National Retired Teachers Association and the Palestine First Christian Church.She married Leon Bryan May 23, 1936 and he preceded her in death October 19, 1954. She married Ray Wiseman December 19, 1964 and he preceded her in death January 26, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step daughter, Marcia Brock; and her son-in-law, Hubert Schofield; her step mother, Edith; and 10 brothers and sisters, including Queen Stephens, (who with her husband, Lewis) raised Muriel from 2 years of age.She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Schofield, Palestine; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Helen Bryan, Eden, NC; her 3 step-sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Anne Wiseman, Robinson, Gary and Betty Wiseman, Champaign, David and Sandy Wiseman, Zionsville, IN; her step son-in-law, Ed Brock, Palestine; 5 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and half sister, Mildred Clanahan, Mound City, IL.Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Sarah Carpenter and Rev. John Johnson in charge of services. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday August 24th. Burial is in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, rural Robinson, IL. Memorials may be made to the Palestine First Christian Church with envelopes at the funeral home.
