Morris Dean "Dean-O" Jordan, 77, of Palestine, IL, passed away on January 12, 2023, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. He was born on September 24, 1945, in Palestine, the son of Beauford "Boots" & Edith Dale Jordan.
He grew up in Robinson, IL, and joined the United States Navy in 1961. There, he proudly served on the USS Coral Sea for four years. After honorably serving his country, he found employment at Public Service Indiana, later Duke Energy, where he worked for 31 years on the traveling maintenance crew.
After his retirement, he started the next chapter of life as a gentleman farmer when he purchased his beloved "Never Done Ranch" in Stockton, MO. Along with his trusty sidekick, Charlie (the world's greatest border collie), he loved living life on his time schedule and only answering to his livestock. He loved and was thankful for those years and the dear friends he made living his best life in Cedar County.
He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Angela & Richard Kelsheimer; his granddaughter, Elaina Llewellyn; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Jordan.
It was Dean's wish to be cremated, and the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of these arrangements. A memorial service will be held in Stockton, MO, at a later date. Memorials may be made to your local hospice providers. A special word of "thanks" is extended to the Carle Home Health Care and Hospice workers, Olney Branch, for their kindness and expertise. They truly are angels of mercy!
