Monty G. Wesner

Monty G. Wesner, 73, of Robinson, died at 5:02 p.m. (E.S.T.) on July 8, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born August 6, 1937 in Robinson, the son of Dennis S. Wesner and Mary Esther Tuttle Wesner. Monty was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He worked for Marathon for 33 years, before retiring in 1995. He was an avid Nascar fan. He was also a 32 Mason, a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, as well as a former member of the Valley of Danville Scottish Rite, the Ainad Shrine-East St. Louis, and the Crawford County Shrine Motor Patrol.He married Judith Apgar on January 5, 1963, and she survives. Also surviving are his six sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Diane Farmer (Broomfield, CO), Mark Stivers (Marysville, WA), Denny & Dawn Wesner (Robinson), Jason & Tammi Wesner (Palestine), Tony Wesner (Olney), and Jim Wesner (Olney); his ten grandchildren, Cristina Farmer, Brad Stivers, Ben Stivers, Alec Stivers, Emily Wesner, Abby Wesner, Megan Wesner, Logan Wesner, Cole Wesner, Lance Wesner; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou & Howard Fowler (Hillsboro, IL); his nephew, Kevin Fowler (Hillsboro); and his niece, Stacy Fowler (Shorewood, IL). He was preceded in death by his parents.There will be a Service of Remembrance at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, where memories will be shared by friends and by family. Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery, with military graveside services being conducted by the combined units of the Palestine AmVets Post #33, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th following the visitation at the funeral home, and will be conducted by the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
