Monica Mann

January 28, 1937 — February 19, 2020

Monica Mann, 83, of Robinson, IL, passed away February 19, 2020, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on January 28, 1937, in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Ralph and Zita (Kluesner) Hall. She grew up in the Seelyville, IN area and would go on to marry Clarence E. 'Sonny' Mann, Jr. on August 28, 1958. In 1965, she, Sonny, and their young family moved to Robinson to be closer to their business, R&L Ready Mix Concrete. She and Sonny dedicated much of their lives to R&L, and by their efforts, the business thrived. That's not to say they didn't know how to enjoy themselves! Monica and Sonny traveled the world, seeing sights that many can only dream to see. They even made a "home away from home" in Fort Meyers, FL. Back home in Robinson, Monica could often be found stitching together quilts for her friends and family, and this was a great source of joy in her life; as was time spent in her yard. She spent countless hours ensuring that her lawn looked immaculate. This comes as no surprise as anyone who knew her. After all, Monica Mann was always well put-together. She held herself to a higher standard, and it showed in all she did, from the way she worked to the way she dressed. In short, she was a woman of impeccable taste and exemplary ideals. Her life was also filled with love. She had a heart for animals, but it was nothing compared to the heart she had for her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who loved her will always remember her fiery personality; she lit up any room she walked into. Though it might feel a little darker without her around, this will forever be a testament to the way Monica lived her life. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Gregg & Stephanie Mann (Palestine, IL); by her daughter, Sherri (Murray) & Tony Thomas (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Stacey & Greg "Moose" Myers, Chadd & Elizabeth Murray, Kaycee & Curtis Rodgers, Kenzi & Marcus Deckard, Lenzi & Nicholas Ippolito, and Paige & Randy Krick; by twelve great-grandchildren, Wyatt Deckard, Bryce Weger, Emma Myers, Braylon Murray, Raylynn Rodgers, Peyton Krick, Brylee Krick, Gianna Ippolito, Atlee Deckard, Brynlee Murray, Arianna Krick, Hazlee Deckard, and Kevin Ippolito; and by her brother, David Hall (Brazil, IN). She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Zita Hall; by her husband, Clarence E. 'Sonny' Mann, Jr.; and by her son-in-law, Kevin Murray. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24th at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Reverend Father Flach officiating. Burial will follow at the Robinson New Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. In honor of her love of animals, memorials may be made to the “Crawford County Humane Society”. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
