Mildred Heleine

Mildred Velta Heleine, 98, of Burnside Nursing Home, Marshall, IL, died at 2:55 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the nursing home. She was born October 11, 1912 in Melrose Township, the second daughter of Fred Ledermann and Phebe Carpenter Ledermann. She married a young Darwin Farmer, Glen Heleine on march 26, 1937. Together they raised a family of five on a small farm on the Darwin Road, still referred locally as €œThe Heleine Corner€. Mildred is survived by five of her six children, Ernest and Linda Heleine, Terre Haute, IN, Fred and Susan Heleine, Bath, PA, Irene Heleine, Terre Haute, IN, Reta and Oscar Kirk, Mooresville, IN, Chuck and Judy Heleine, Denver, SC; 6 grandchildren, Amy Heleine, Darin Heleine, Greg Heleine, Alyssa Kirk Miller, Michelle Kirk Funriss, Nathan Heleine; 3 great grandchildren, Rebecca Miller, Ashlynn Miller Grayson Furniss; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Glen Heleine; an infant daughter, Viola Joan Heleine; a grandson, Dale Heleine; and 3 sisters, Florence Copper, Edith Catte, and Frieda Schilling.The family members wish to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Burnside Nursing Home for their support and loving care given to Mildred over the past 6 years.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union, IL. Burial will be in the Baliff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, preceding the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burnside Nursing Home with envelopes available at the funeral home.
