Michale "Mike" Newman

Michale "Mike" Newman, 58, of Robinson, IL, died on February 20, 2022.

Mike was born on September 8, 1963, in Sullivan, IN, the son of Albert & Evelyn (Post) Newman, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, David, Donald, and Ronnie.

He is survived by his children, Kai Lynn Newman, Michale & Erica Newman and Stephen Newman; by his grandchildren, Elsye Poeplau, Isabella Sostenes, Isaac Newman, Denver Newman, and Skarlett Newman; by his siblings, Martha, Ruth, Pansy, Larry Joe, Paulette, Sandy, Jane, and Merle; by several nieces and nephews; as well as his best friends, Chef and Tim Bennett.

Mike grew up in Robinson, IL, and graduated from Robinson High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Upon returning from the military, Mike would work many odd jobs before opening and operating Poor Little Mikey's Choo Choo Barbecue in 2012.

Throughout his years, he could be found buying antiques. He loved horses, but something that brought him enjoyment was sitting in his chair jamming out to music. Mike's true pride and joy were his family, especially his grandchildren.

The ones who knew Mike could say he was a people person. He could often be found helping anyone who needed it. Mike will be remembered for his many stories and full of life energy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25th at Oblong Cemetery in Oblong, IL. Goodwine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
