Maxine Boyd, 66 of Landrum, SC, formerly of Palestine, IL, died in Landrum Friday, August 14, 2009. She was born August 12, 1943 in Daniel Boone, KY, the daughter of James B. and Ora Parker. She worked as a clerk in Sam’s Wholesale for a number of years, was a member of the Palestine Eagles Lodge and the Robinson American Legion Auxiliary Post #69. Maxine married Jerry Boyd February 18, 1988 and he survives. She is also survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Cindy Byrley, Palestine and Rob and Bonnie Byrley, Palestine; 2 grandchildren, Amber Dawn and Donald James Byrley both of Palestine; her brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Jennie Parker, Palestine; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and George McCarter, Palestine, Betty Mills, Palestine, Janet and Lee Brown, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Norris Parker; and her sister, Mary McGahey.Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 19th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine . Rev. Richard Boyd is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery . Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
