Maureen Leonard Hanson, 83, of Robinson died at 4:19 a.m. (E.S.T.) Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born November 21, 1927 in Weeting, England, the daughter of Arthur Albert Leonard and Mary Jane Edwards. She came to America from England on the Queen Mary in 1946 as a war bride, and returned seven times over the years. Maureen was a member of the Robinson Free Methodist Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and Yahtzee with her family and watching Jeopardy.She married Charlie Eugene Hanson on February 28, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; and one great-great-granddaughter.She is survived by her five daughters, Chris Houston, Franklin, IN, Shirley & Jim Seaney, Robinson, Vickie & Frank Houston, Godfrey, IL, Sharon & Patrick Ochs, Robinson, Lori & David Clark, York, IL; her four sons, Mike & Diana Hanson, Robinson, Steve & Connie Hanson, Greenup, Roger & Cindy Hanson, Robinson, Jay Hanson, Godfrey, IL; 31 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Roger Woods, Weeting, England; one sister-in-law, Betsy Baud, Robinson; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Pastors Burl Shinkle and Adam Conder officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Women€™s Ministries International to be left at the funeral home or sent to the Robinson Free Methodist Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
