Maude Evelyn Martin

Maude Evelyn Martin, 92 of Marshall, IL, died at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 04, 2008 at Burnside Nursing Center in Marshall. She was born January 31, 1916 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Carl Don Ellinger and Hazel Ressa McCracken Ellinger. She was a homemaker and a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church in Clark County, IL.She married Joseph J. Martin on July 16, 1932 and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judith Ann Taylor; 2 sisters; and 5 brothers.Survivors include 7 children and their spouses, Jeannie Lea Stogsdill and her friend, William Megahan, Silver City, NM, Joseph Jack and Marietta Martin Carlsbad, CA, David W. and Karon Martin, McKinney, TX, Dean and Kay Martin, Marshall, Suzette and Loren Ray Stone, Marshall, Mary and Curtis Kuhn, Grand Prairie, TX, Jeffery Carl and Cheryl Martin, Ocean Side, CA; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Cynthia Brenton, Rosedale, IN; her sister, Mary Ellen Boyer, Bowling Green, IN; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services are Monday, September 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Armstrong United Methodist Church, near Livingston. Pastor Miriam Snider is in charge of services with burial in the Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church, and from 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Armstrong United Methodist Church or to the Livingston Cemetery, with envelopes at the church or mailed to the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, 313 E. Union St., West Union, IL 62477.
