Marylin Faye Stanley, 72, of Robinson, IL, died December 6, 2020 in the comfort of her home. She was born on May 30, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, MO, the daughter of William & Magdalene (Kemper) Fields, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Laird Knapp and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Hellen Kenefake and Mary Ellen (Jan) Sult. Marylin married Jack Stanley on April 15, 1995 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Michael Lewis, Kimberley Knapp, Dee Knapp, Jay Stanley, Christie Noblett, Matt Stanley, and by her bonus daughter, Laura Johnson; by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; by her brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Brenda Fields; by her special friends, Bob & Bea Abernathy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marylin grew up in the Porterville, CA area. For several years, she worked for the Newton IGA before moving to the Robinson. Here, she worked for IGA for a number of years before retiring. Away from work, she could often be found immersed within the pages of a book, as reading was a great source of joy in her life, as was gardening. She spent countless hours tending to her produce, which she used in much of her delicious cooking. What wasn't used immediately was canned to be enjoyed later, alongside her friends and family. They will remember Marylin as a woman who loved out of a deep, deep well that only comes through a life partnered with God. A longtime member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, we have the assurance that her 72 years on earth is but the beginning in light of eternal life alongside her Savior. Due to the newly-increased public safety measures being enforced by the State of Illinois, funeral services will be private. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
