Mary V. Devin, 80 of Palestine, died early Wednesday morning, January 16, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born March 20, 1927 in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Charley Biggs and Jennie Huffman Biggs. She had been a waitress at Crutchfields and at the Sugar Bowl. She attended the Outer West Market Church of Christ, Palestine, a past member of the Crawford Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for 14 years, and a past member of the Women of the Moose.She married Forrest Devin September 17, 1983 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Ralph and Earl Biggs; her sister, Iris Dollohan; and her son-in-law, Alan Adams.She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Adams, Palestine; 3 grandsons and their wives, Chad Alan and Michelle Adams, Flat Rock, Jeff and Stacy Goodland, Palestine, Greg Goodland, Palestine; 1 granddaughter and her husband, April and Ryan Strange, Charleston; 6 great grandchildren, Zachrey Goodland, Logan and Madison Adams, Taylor and Emma Strange, and Nick Pfeiffer; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 18th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
