Mary Newell

Mary Newell, 58, of Dennison, IL, died at 10:26 a.m. (EST) on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born September 25, 1960 in Berwyn, IL the daughter of Edlie James Wright & Anna Belle (Holley) Williams, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Charles Newell on May 2, 2000, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jaxx York; by her brother, Michael Wright; and by her sisters, Shirley Ann Chapman, Dale Staley. She is survived by her sons, Bradley York & Wendy Hightshoe (Robinson, IL) and Brian Malone (Palestine, IL); by her grandchildren, Aleira, Brantleigh, Broox, Deanna, Skylor, and Damion; by her significant other, Dean Malone (Dennison, IL); by five brothers, Larry Palmer (Oblong, IL), Bill Wright (Willow Hill, IL), Charlie Wright & Leo Flores (Altamont, IL), Steve Williams (Willow Hill, IL), and Lonnie & Penny Williams (Stewardson, IL); by her sister, Karen Priest (Willow Hill, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary Newell, by all accounts, lived life her way. You never had to guess what she was thinking…she was always more than happy to tell you! But she never made hidden the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also passionate about animals and loved her 3 dogs, 3 cockatiels, and cat with a vengeance. This funny, ornery soul was truly one-of-a-kind; her family could never replace her, nor forget her for as long as they live. A private family graveside service will be held in the Brockville Cemetery (rural Newton, IL). The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to her memorial fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
