Mary Lou Lindsey passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023, in Oblong, Illinois.


Mary was born August 17, 1931, to Hiram "Roy" Kintner and Nellie (Hollingsworth) Kintner. She married Leo Lloyd Lindsey September 9, 1950, in her parents' home in Oblong, Illinois. They were parents to three children: Linda (Dan) McGurren, Winter Haven, Florida, Sandra Lindsey, Robinson, Illinois, and James (Laura) Lindsey, Russellville, Alabama, and grandparents to six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.


As a member of Oblong Central United Methodist Church, Mary was a long-time member of the choir, served as a Sunday School teacher, and was involved in many church-related activities. She was also a member of the Laura Newlin China Guild. Mary loved to look for and collect Indian artifacts, and could often be found fishing on local lakes. She was a talented artist and a wonderful cook and baker.


Preceded in death by her husband, Mary is survived by her children and their extended families, a brother, Bill Kintner, Terre Haute, Indiana, a sister, Patricia (Ed) White, Robinson, Illinois, two sisters-in-law, Neva Otey and Blodwyn Price, both of Oblong, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.


A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
