Mary I. Cunningham

Mary I. Cunningham, 82, of Robinson, IL died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her children. She was born April 18, 1928 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of James Wesley Arthur and Pearl Jeanette (Murphy) Arthur. She was a homemaker and made over 5,480 rosaries which were sent to various missions and to St. Elizabeth€™s Church for distribution to nursing homes. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the VFW Post #4549 Ladies Auxiliary.She married Gene O. Cunningham on March 29, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 7 brothers, Raymond Midkiff, Samuel Alonzo Midkiff, Johnny Midkiff, George Arthur, Noble Arthur, Ralph Arthur and Frank Arthur; and 5 sisters, Dorothy A. Midkiff, Lula E Layton, Roxie Freeman, Pauline Russell and Betty Arthur.Mary is survived by 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Regina S. & Gary Lumpp, Shelbyville, Debbie L. & Ron Granby, Newton, Celina L. & Robert Goss, Flat Rock, Rita J. Cunningham, Robinson, and Karen A. & Todd Calvert, Trenton; 21 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Norma M. Boyd, Medford, MN and Grace Katherine Worthington, Northglenn, COFuneral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Robinson, with Father Aloysius Okey Ndeanaefo officiating. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
