Mary E. Killion, 88 of rural Merom, IN, formerly of Palestine, died at the home of her daughter in rural Merom at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010. She was born September 22, 1921 in Palestine, the daughter of John O. Baker and Jessie Cornellia Brashear Baker. She was a homemaker and was a waitress at the Gordon Corner and Coffee Cup restaurants. She was a member of the Calvary Independent Church in Greenup, KY.She married James R. Killion April 6, 1957 and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1989. She was also preceded by her parents. Mary is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and William Keeton, Winslow, IN, Kathy and Jerry Moore, Merom, IN, Sara and Mike Fowler, Petersburg, IN; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Debra Killion, Petersburg, IN; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, John “Whitey” Baker Jr. and his friend, Etta Bowman, and Leroy and Lois Baker, Flat Rock; and 2 nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 28th at 1:00 p.m. (Illinois Time), with visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Rev. Jerry Moore is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery.
