Martha Lucille Markello, 92, of Robinson, IL, died at 1:13 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 in the comfort of her home. She was born June 22, 1926 in Clinton, IN, the daughter of Clint Manship & Amelia (Potter) Manship, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter & son-in-law, Laura & Michael Murray; by her brother, Roy Manship; by her sister, Elizabeth Gilfoy; by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Markello; by her granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Markello; by her mother-in-law & father-in-law, Margaret & Mike Markello; and by her twin great-grandsons, Logan Markello and Landon Markello in infancy. She married John T. Markello on May 6, 1955, and he survives. She is also survived by her son, Gregory Markello (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Christy Weger & Bobby Hayes (Robinson, IL), Jeremy Markello (Robinson, IL), Candace Markello (Seattle, WA), Kathy & Cody Miller (Flat Rock, IL), Jennifer & Michael Trivett (Robinson, IL), and Jonathon Murray (Robinson, IL); by her great-grandchildren, Jordyn Weger, Rebecca Trivett, Blake Trivett, Jesse Trivett, JJ Markello, Madalyn Miller, Ally Miller, JT Miller, Laura Miller, Chase Markello, Maci Markello, Garrett Markello, Cobin Hayes, and Brick Hayes. Martha grew up in the Clinton, IN area and was a graduate of Clinton High School. She and John moved around from Terre Haute and Bridgeport before finally settling in Robinson in 1962. For a time, she worked for the Indiana Electric Company and Tressler’s, but dedicated most of her life to caring for her home and all those inside of it. Though this kept her plenty busy, she somehow found time to volunteer for the Crawford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Marathon Ladies, and First Robinson Methodist Church, where she was a longtime member and sang alto in the choir. Later in life, she could often be found fully immersed in her word search puzzles, and they brought countless hours of entertainment to her golden years. However, few things brought her more joy than simply conversing with her family over a hot cup of coffee. They remember a caring woman who genuinely loved with all of her heart without a shred of judgement; a sweet, funny soul who had a way of making everything a little brighter. Martha Markello was a treasure who left behind a legacy of love that will live on for years to come. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
