She is also survived by her sister, Juanita Stacko, and several nieces and nephews.
Martha was a member of the Duncanville Baptist Church for over 25 years, where she taught a youth Sunday School class and served as church secretary for a time.
Martha was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and spent many hours listening to and watching games, but her love for the Cardinals was nothing compared to her love for her family. After retiring from the Lincoln Grade School cafeteria, she became the family babysitter. Nothing brought her more joy than to rock a baby, wipe away tears, or bandage a knee. She was devoted to her family and could always be counted on to provide a taxi service or keep the sick kids when they couldn't go to school and rarely ever missed a grandchild or great-grandchild's sporting event or school program.
She used her love for cooking and baking to spread happiness. Many will never forget her melt-in-your-mouth persimmon and "no-bake" cookies, which she made every week just in case the family stopped by. She was also known to bag them and give them to friends and acquaintances.
Martha was a simple lady with a servant's heart. Even after entering Brookstone, she continued caring for others by reading the newspaper to those who couldn't.
Her love of the Lord has secured her a new home in Heaven. Though she will be missed by those she leaves behind, we rejoice that she is pain-free and reunited with those who have gone before her.
