Marlyin's extraordinary life was marked by a long and distinguished career in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1952 to 1973. Retiring as a Technical Sergeant, he was a veteran of the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and served in Guam and various American bases. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Marlyin dedicated another 15 years to civil service, working as a warehouse supervisor for the PATRIOT Missile System at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania.
Outside of his work, Marlyin was a man of many interests and involvements. He had an affinity for shopping and "just running around." An avid traveler, he and his wife, Dora, enjoyed numerous adventures and unforgettable memories throughout the continental United States - from Pennsylvania to Washington to Texas - often behind the wheel, as he loved to drive! Marlyin also took pleasure in spending time at their second home in Holiday, FL.
Marlyin's other passions encompassed both leisure and service. He loved mowing his yard and was a 32nd-degree Mason, conjuring images of a man dedicated to both his home and his community. He was also a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a steadfast member of the First Christian Church in Hutsonville, IL.
