Mark McCormick, 58, of Palestine, IL died at 12:38 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born on February 18, 1961 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of William “Bill” McCormick & Irene (Harris) McCormick. He married Elizabeth Diann Noll on April 15, 1995 and she preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” McCormick. He is survived by his sons, Steven Thomas McCormick, William Earl Lee McCormick, and Benjamin Jacob McCormick; by his several grandchildren; by his mother, Irene McCormick; by his brother & sister-in-law, Martin & Carmen McCormick; by his special friend, Kyndra Landrum and family; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mark grew up in the Palestine area and was a graduate of Palestine High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mark found true enjoyment in watching the St. Louis Cardinals and listening to the band Rush. He especially loved spending time with his mother, friends and their dog Rowdy. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A graveside service will immediately follow and will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Rev. Paul Gray will be officiating the service. Memorials may be made to “Riley’s Children Hospital”, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
