Marjorie Osborn

May 5, 1939 — July 26, 2020

Marjorie Osborn, 81, of Robinson, IL, died Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Brookstone Estates in Robinson. She was born May 5, 1939, in Oblong, IL, the daughter of Clyde Osborn & Bessie Alice (Tracy) Osborn-McCormick, both of whom preceded her in death. As her birth father died when she was 2 years old, she was raised by Arthur McCormick, who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Randy McCormick and Rev. Larry McCormick. She is survived by her sister & brother-in-law, Sheryl & Dan Cleaves (Dyersburg, TN); by her sisters-in-law, Waneita McCormick and Rozan McCormick (both of Robinson, IL); as well as a several beloved nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Margie grew up outside of Robinson and was a 1957 graduate of Robinson High School. She would go on to find work at L.S. Heath & Sons, a job she truly enjoyed throughout her 38 years of employment before retiring from Hershey in 2001. Away from work, Margie enjoyed traveling, and had a special place in her heart for Branson, MO in particular. Back home, she found joy in going out to eat nearly every day and was a regular at many local eateries. It has been said that the only reason she had a kitchen was because it came with her house! Faith played an important role in her life as well. For years, Margie taught Sunday school and led the youth group at First Assembly of God and touched many young lives in the process. She also led song service for many years, and this continued well after she moved to Dayspring Church later in her life. In short, Marjorie Osborn lived as Jesus did--she was a light in darkness. Her generous spirit and the selflessness with which she lived her life will continue to impact her beloved family and community for years to come. We are thankful that, by the grace of God, her 81 years are just the beginning in light of eternal life.
