Marilyn Albert, 94, of Robinson, IL, died on February 9th, 2021, at Blair House in Bloomington, IL. She was born October 3rd, 1926, in Prairie Township, rural Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Arthur E. & Grace (Mann) McCrory, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Leslie Carrol Albert on June 19th, 1949, and he preceded her in death on July 6th, 2002. She is survived by her children, Jo Lynn Robinson (Normal, IL), John Carrol Albert & wife Louise (Katy, TX), and Lou Ann Devine & husband Steve (Bloomington, IL); and by her grandchildren, Jason Tyler Robinson (Denver, CO), Jared Taylor Robinson (Bloomington, IL), Madeline Grace Albert (Dallas, TX), and Luke James Albert (Waco, TX). Marilyn was a 1944 graduate of Robinson High School and would further her education by attending the Indiana State School of Business in Terre Haute, IN. She put her newfound knowledge to use as a secretary, working in this capacity for Marathon Petroleum Company for five and a half years, Robinson High School for ten years, and L. S Heath & Sons for six years before retiring in 1983. When she wasn't actively watching her beloved St. Louis Cardinals play ball, much of her time away from work was spent ministering to others. A longtime and highly active member of Highland Church of Christ in Robinson, she gave of herself in several ministries over the years and served two terms as the Chairman of the Ladies Board. It was apparent in the way she lived her life that she held fast to her relationship with her Lord and Savior. She loved without ever running out, and this was especially true in the way she tended to her family. She was a remarkably devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with those she loved most in this world. They, as well as anyone blessed enough to know her, could attest to the fact that she let her light shine among men and glorified her Heavenly Father with her 94 years with us. We have no doubt that on Tuesday, Marilyn was met with the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!" A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, IL. Under Phase 4 Mitigations, public attendance is allowed, but only up to 50 attendees at a time. Thusly, social distancing measures will be in place, and it will be required that all visitors wear face coverings while in the building. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, with Pastors Shane Bopp and Mike McElyea officiating. A live stream of her service can be viewed on Goodwine Funeral Homes' Facebook page or by going to https://www.goodwinefuneralhomes.com/live-stream/live-stream . Memorial donations may be made to "Highland Church of Christ", with envelopes available at the funeral home. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Robinson New Cemetery.
