Marcella Joan Hussey

Marcella Joan Hussey, 74 of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 at her home after an extended illness. She was born May 11, 1934 in Flat Rock, the daughter of Robert L. Miller and Annabelle Taylor Miller.She was an Examiner for the State of Illinois License Branch for 17 years, retiring in the early 1990’s. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution, and was a past member of the Flat Rock American Legion Auxiliary. She attended the Flat Rock First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Democratic Women and was a precinct committee woman.Joan married John E. Hussey, February 25, 1955 and he survives. She is also survived by her 4 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Hussey, Flat Rock, Scott and Karla Hussey, Flat Rock, Mark and Sarah Hussey, Flat Rock, Matt and Vicki Hussey, Lawrenceville; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Linda Miller, Robinson, Robbie and Mary Miller, Robinson; her sister, Camilla Parker, Flat Rock; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mindy Buchanan; 2 granddaughters, Rachael and Jennifer Buchanan; and her brother, Leon Miller.Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Pastor Jason Donaldson is in charge of services. Burial is in the Jones Cemetery , rural Flat Rock. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes at the funeral home.
