Marc Wayne Colby

Marc Wayne Colby, 51, of East Peoria, died on June 26, 2011 in Pekin, IL. He was born March 8, 1960 in Springfield, IL, the son of Wayne Colby and Melba Gibler Colby. He was a design engineer for Caterpillar and enjoyed motorcycling and was an avid bowler, having played several 300-point games. He also enjoyed baseball and softball, both as an all-star athlete, as the manager for the CDI team that won the Peora Inner-League Softball Championship, and as a Mets fan.He is survived by his mother, Melba Colby, Robinson; his sister and brother-in-law, Kay & Dale Tye, Robinson; and his niece, Erinn Tye, Robinson. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Colby on May 5, 2010.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
