Lynnzay Edward Wallace, 77, of Marshall, IL, passed away at 11:23 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma cancer. Lynnzay was born October 3, 1941, in Marshall, IL to Willard Wallace and Alberta (Gideon-Wallace) Powell. He married Judy (Mazza) Antunez on September 13, 2018. He is survived by his wife and her children, Tammy DePasse, Terri (Mike) Woldahl, Kenny (Racheal May) Johnson; by his daughter, Angel (Brian) Goble; his grandchildren, Bradyn Budde (fiance’ Ashley Caudill), Breah Keim (fiance’ Jascanel Ferreras), Tyler Wallace; his great-granddaughter, Cora Budde; his sisters, Nadine Reinoehl and Melanie Crampton; as well as several nieces and nephews. Lynnzay was preceded in death by his late wife, June Ellen (Burger) Wallace; his son, Brian Wallace; his brothers, Stanley and Michael Wallace; as well as his parents. Lynnzay was a member of the Marshall First Christian Church, the Marshall American Legion Post #90, ABATE, and the Marshall VFW #5975, with whom he volunteered countless hours of his time and served on its board. He attended Marshall High School and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he completed his high school education and served his country honorably. Lynnzay was a semi-truck driver, worked the oil fields in Alaska and retired from a long profession as an Operator in the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #841 of Terre Haute, IN. He loved running heavy equipment, being outdoors and took great pride in his work. Lynnzay was a Nascar fan, lover of the ocean and his favorite vacation spot was Daytona Beach, Florida where he could enjoy both. Lynnzay spent a lot of time riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, 4 wheelers, ATV, sling shot and anything that allowed him to live life at full throttle. He enjoyed country music, having a good time and could often be found wearing western shirts and cowboy boots. He will be remembered as being larger than life; a kind, generous spirit who was a friend to many. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30th at the funeral home with burial following in the Marshall Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Marshall VFW Post #5975. Following the graveside, family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Lynnzay's life at the Marshall VFW, (112 N 5th St). Memorial Contributions may be made to "MARF" (Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation) or to the "Marshall VFW", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
