Lowell Paul €œScoot€ McSchooler, 87, of Robinson, IL died at 11:56 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his home in Robinson, IL. He was born January 9, 1924 in Casey, IL (Clark County). He was the son of Roy & Nanny (List) McSchooler. He married Pauline €œPolly€ Sawyer on February 13, 1948 and she preceded him in death on April 2, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two half-brothers, John & Edgar McSchooler; one brother, Howard McSchooler; three sisters, Leona Hodge, Wanda Bruner, & Irene Gilbert; three brothers-in-law, Doit Hodge, John Ryan, John Bruner; two sisters-in-law, Imogene McSchooler and Beulah McSchooler.Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy & Nolan Wilson (Robinson, IL), Penny Kaye & Rip York (Robinson, IL), Tina & Clark McNary (Marshall, IL); his son, Mike McSchooler and special friend Therese Meskimen (Robinson, IL); two grand-daughters, Nicole McSchooler (New Port Richey, FL) and Kerrie Woodcock (Terre Haute, IN); two grandsons, and a daughter-in-law, Chad Wilson (St. Louis, MO), Nathan & Shirin McSchooler (Valmeyer, IL), and a step-grandson, Caleb McNary (Marshall, IL); four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Mia and Carter McSchooler (Valmeyer, IL) and Ella Shae Woodcock (Terre Haute, IN); his sister Ruth Ryan (Casey, IL); his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester & Gloria McSchooler (Carrolton, IL), David €œSonny€ & Norma McSchooler (Mattoon, IL), Don & Sharon McSchooler (Robinson, IL), as well as several nieces/nephews and great-nieces/nephews.Scoot served as a sergeant in the Army in WWII. He worked for Marathon Oil Company as a pumper for over 30 years in the Crawford County area. He was an active member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, Ainad Shrine Temple and served on numerous other organizations, Scottish Rites Bodies in the Valley of Danville, Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, Robinson Legion #69, Robinson VFW #4549, Robinson Booster Club, and many more. Scoot loved to collect cigar labels, knives, postage stamps, ink pens, thimbles, and coins. He loved to bowl, play outside sports, hunt, and most of all, to GO FISHING.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Brothers Dwight & Jerry McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23rd at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be conducted by the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250 at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, following the visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lowell McSchooler Masonic Scholarship Fund (P.O. Box 563, Robinson, IL 62454) with envelopes available at the funeral home.
