Louise Maxine Teter, 101, of West Union, IL, died Friday, January 7, 2022, in the comfort of her home. She was born June 1, 1920, in West Union, the daughter of Chauncey & Elsie (Wernz) Crow, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Elmer P. Teter on July 7, 1972, and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her son, Walter Dale Clatfelter; her son-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Harrelson; her brothers, Warren Voorhees Crow and Ira Boyd Crow; her niece, Sandra Crow Hardway; and her nephew, Gary Crow. She is survived by her daughter, Tori Clatfelter Harrelson (McLeansboro, IL); and by her granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Tina Kinney Brown & Jason Brown (West Union, IL). Louise was a loving, caring soul, and her concern for others led to a career in the medical field. A longtime LPN, she was a staple at a number of healthcare institutions in Terre Haute and this was work she truly enjoyed. This compassionate nature carried over to her love of animals, especially cats, with Louise having many four-legged companions through the years. A tangible way she loved others was through her cooking. In fact, it could be said that by filling others up, she herself found fulfillment! We who are left behind are humbled by this dear woman's generosity of spirit, and will cling to her memory for as long as we live. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12th, at Bailiff Cemetery, rural West York, IL. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements.
