Loren Wayne Richards

Loren Wayne Richards, 84, of Robinson, IL, died at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson, IL. He was born September 14, 1934, in Robinson, IL to Charles & Mirtle (Stevens) Richards, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Wayne Richards; by his brother, Don Richards; and by his sisters, Marilyn Richards (in infancy), Francis Estep and Beulah Pethel. He is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law; Robin & Annette Richards (Michigan City, IN), Danny Alonzo (IN), Tony & Kathy Richards (Flat Rock, IL), and Rod & Kathy Richards (Nashville, TN); by his daughter & son-in-law, Tammy & Kevin Fletcher (Nashville, TN); by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; by his sisters, Carolyn Woodard, Sharon Collins, Betty Dunlap, and Judy Chapman; as well as several nieces and nephews. Loren grew up in the Robinson area before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. Out of the service, he went to work in sales for Endsley's Food in Robinson and Allen Foods in St. Louis. Much of his time away from work found him throwing strikes in the bowling alley or shooting birdies on the golf course. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, and this too provided him with countless hours of enjoyment. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Friends and family will have the opportunity to take part by sharing memories of Loren during the service. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Parkinson's Foundation", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
