Lois Lucille Robbins, 90 of Palestine, IL, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL. She was born April 3, 1918 in Robinson, the daughter of James L. Mikeworth and Melissa Smith Mikeworth. She and her husband owned Robbins Clothing Store in Palestine from 1948-1968. She worked in production at Jakel Motors, Fair-Rite Products, and Lexel Co. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Palestine, Catherine Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Robinson American Legion Post #69 Auxiliary, and Moose Auxiliary. She sold rodeo tickets at the arena in Palestine for many years.She married Howard D. Robbins June 27, 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 13, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 7 brothers; and 5 sisters.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Pamela Robbins, Palestine; her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Harry “Butch” Myles, Hutsonville; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Robbins, Terre Haute, IN, Cory and his wife, Lauren Robbins, Terre Haute, IN, Barrett Robbins, Palestine, Doug Myles, Casey, Robin “Myles” Shaffer, West Terre Haute, IN, Bobbie and his wife, Exie Myles, Martinsville ; 8 great grandchildren, Aiden Robbins, Kelan Robbins, and Sadie Robbins all of Terre Haute, Rachelle Roberts, Rebecca Roberts, and Renee Roberts, all of West Terre Haute, IN, Garrett Myles, and Katelynn Myles, both of Martinsville; and her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Bill McKay, Venice, FL.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, IL with Brother Don Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
