Linda Watts, 72, of Robinson, IL, died unexpectedly on June 28, 2021, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born June 10, 1949, in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Clinton "Cal" & Grace (Gowin) Cafin. She grew up in Palestine and eventually met the love of her life, Wendall Watts, who she married on February 11, 1967. This period of life found her at home, tending to their growing family. When their three children were old enough to attend school, she entered the workforce, finding employment with Crawford Electronics, where she worked for a number of years before they closed their doors. Linda spent the rest of her professional career at Victor Dana, where she retired just before turning 65. Away from work, she found great fulfillment and enjoyment in travel. Over the years, she saw much of North America, though, as a "beach bum," she was particularly drawn to locations such as Cancun and Jamaica. Back home, she kept up with her beloved St. Louis Cardinals and also filled quite a bit of time with painting and drawing pictures that her family now have to cherish for the rest of their lives. They will remember Linda as an honest soul who, for better or worse, wore her heart on her sleeve. Though she wasn't afraid to speak her mind, it was evident that she cared for her loved ones and was concerned for their well-being. We who are left behind will carry her legacy in our hearts for the rest of our lives. Left behind to mourn her passing are her husband of 54 years, Wendall Watts; her mother, Grace Cafin (Robinson, IL); her son & daughter-in-law, Brad & Barb Watts (Robinson, IL); her daughter, Julie Rutan (Flat Rock, IL); her grandchildren & their spouses, James & Emily Buchanan (Orlando, FL), Bradley & Krissy Buchanan (Robinson, IL), Jonathon & Brittany Rutan (Linton, IN), and Kiya Rutan (Flat Rock, IL); her four great-grandchildren; her brother & sister-in-law, Larry & Rose Cafin; her sister & brother-in-law, Carol & Glen Gosnell; as well as several nieces and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton Cafin; by her father-in-law & mother-in-law, John, Jr. & Marietta Watts; and by her son, Brian Watts. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. In honor of her son's involvement with the organization, memorials may be made to the "Elks Lodge #1188", with proceeds to be used to fund their Christmas Basket program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
