Linda Kay Zulueta, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2023, at her home in Robinson, IL. Born on May 22, 1949, Linda was a lifelong resident of Robinson and worked for numerous local businesses, including Jakel Motors, Fair-Rite, and Stewart Security. However, her most cherished roles in life were those of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Watching her family grow and flourish brought her immense joy, and she wanted nothing more than to be with them as much as possible. For her, being around family was the truest form of happiness.
Linda was incredibly generous and selfless, always putting others' needs before her own. She'd often show love by baking delightful treats like cakes, persimmon pudding, and her signature sugar cookies for her family, spreading joy with each batch. Although she didn't care much for material things, she relished the simple pleasure of shopping at Wal-Mart and the Dollar Store. Her infectious enthusiasm for life would have her exclaim, "I'm coming!" whenever someone mentioned going shopping.
An ardent animal lover, Linda enjoyed walking her beloved dog, Peanut, with her friends and their furry companions every morning. She had a talent for making everyone feel welcome, frequently sitting outside, sipping coffee, and engaging in warm conversations with anyone who stopped to visit with her. Linda loved going on trips as well, creating treasured memories during family vacations to destinations like Mount Rushmore, Colorado, and Florida. Her last big trip took her to California, where her step-son showed her the breathtaking sights that the Golden State has to offer.
A woman of deep faith, Linda found solace and strength in her walk with Jesus. She was a devoted member of Southside Christian Church, attending services for the last several years. Though her family's hearts ache with her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering.
Linda Kay Zulueta's life was a symphony of faith, generosity, and love. She made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered with her warmth and kindness. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched, but her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in peace, Linda, and may you find joy everlasting in the heavenly embrace of our Lord.
