She was born July 28, 1947 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of William Wood & Marguerite (Schrum) Wood, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Theodore A. “Ted” Anthony, Jr. on March 21, 1966, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Will Wood; as well as several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her children, Theodore A. Anthony, III (Robinson, IL), Tamara L. Cox, Lillian Anthony (Robinson, IL), Jacob Anthony (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, Lacey Cox, Kyle Anthony, Elliott Carothers; by her great-granddaughter, Melanie Ellison and one on the way. Linda grew up in Calumet City and was a 1965 graduate of Thornton Fractional North High School. She worked as a secretary at CNA Financial in Chicago for 20 years before becoming an independent real estate agent and broker. She, along with her husband Ted, owned and operated A & A Buyers Realty for a number of years before retiring. Much of her free time was spent watching television, especially cooking shows. Faith played an integral role in her life, and she and Ted were lifelong members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Linda Anthony will long be remembered as a hard-working woman who lived and loved fully. Her family has lost not only a matriarch, but a friend and champion as well. It was Linda’s wish to be cremated and there will be a private family service at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
