Lillie E. Hout, 93 of rural Robinson, IL, died at 3:24p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at her home. She was born September 5, 1916 in Flat Rock, the daughter of Harvey Mills and Lola Purcell Mills. She was a homemaker, a member of the Community Circle Home Extension, the South East LaMotte Home Extension, a charter member of the Palestine Garden Club, and a charter member of the HEA of Crawford County. She attended the Pleasant View Church and the Palestine First Presbyterian Church.She married Lewis “Pete” Hout on September 5, 1934 and he preceded her in death on January 29, 1984. She was also preceded by her parents, her granddaughter, Julie Bowen; and 2 brothers Charles and Paul Mills.Lillie is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Jerry Perdun, Marion, IL, Judy and Melvin Spinner, rural Palestine, Karen and Ralph Ellis, Pinehurst, NC; 5 grandchildren, Ralph Ellis Jr, Pinehurst, NC, Cynthia Fitzsimons, Red Hook, NY, Cristina Van Winkle, Lawrenceville Michael Ellis, Burlington, CT, and Brad Spinner, Palestine; 12 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 10 step great granddaughters, 2 step great grandsons; 2 sisters-in-law, Lenore Hout, Portland OR, Maxine Roberts, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Rev. Paul Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be held 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st preceding the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made the Central Illinois Midwest Kidney Foundation and the Pleasant View Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
